The Executive Governor of the State of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has charged the graduates of Fountain University Osogbo to be good ambassadors of the institution and the nation, emphasizing that they should strive to be the solution providers to challenges facing the society. Sunday 14th January, 2018 urged the students to study their environment, identify its problems and find solutions to them.

In his presentation, the renowned speaker encouraged the graduands to take the present challenges confronting Nigeria as an opportunity to make a difference and must work hard to transform their individual lives, immediate society and the nation’s economy.

Bemoaning the economic recession the country is currently facing, the governor advised the graduates to turn the situation around and make the country a better place of living by being productive and solution providers. ‘Every sector in this country requires productivity because it is unheard of that in spite of our vast mineral resources and land, our productivity has been very low’, he added.

In a related development, the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Professor Abdlateef Usman also charged the graduates to be focused and make positive impact in the society. In his address of welcome, the Vice Chancellor urged the graduates to be determined, reminding them that one of the very important tools being taught in Fountain University is the fear of Allah and the analytical mind to identify and determine the right from the wrong direction.

He added that after the duration of their learning in Fountain University, the students have been both academically and morally moulded to be good and responsible individuals anywhere they go.

Of the 284 students that were graduated, 23 bagged First Class degrees, 107 made Second Class Honours {Upper Division}, 128 made Second Class Honours {Lower Division] while 26 were in the Third Class Division.

Dignitaries who graced the occasion include the Chancellor, Fountain University, Sheikh Ahmed Lemu, the Chairman, Board of Trustees, Alhaji Abdwaheed Adeola, Pro Chancellor and Chairman of the University Council, Professor Ishaq Oloyede and President, NASFAT Worldwide, Engineer Kamil Bolarinwa, members of the University Management, lecturers, parents and well-wishers.
